Enrichment and Community Experiences

In addition to the many engaging classroom activities and learning experiences children enjoy each day, our students participate in a variety of special enrichment programs throughout the week. These experiences are designed to broaden children’s horizons, spark new interests, and bring additional joy and excitement to their school day.

Our weekly specials include Music, Gardening, Yoga, Library, Sports, Hebrew, and Jewish Enrichment, all taught by dedicated specialists who bring their unique expertise and passion to our program. These experiences allow children to explore creativity, movement, nature, language, culture, and self-expression in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.

Community is at the heart of life at KI, and one of the ways we strengthen those connections is by gathering together as a school family each week. Every Monday morning, we begin our week with a joyful all-school Havdalah, marking the transition into a new week of learning, friendship, and discovery. Then, every Friday, we come together once again to celebrate Shabbat as a community.

Our weekly Shabbat gathering is one of the most beloved traditions at the Richard E. Rudolph, Jr. Preschool. During this special time, children sing, dance, celebrate Jewish traditions, and share songs they have learned with their friends. The children take great pride in performing for their community and helping to create a warm and meaningful Shabbat experience.

Adding to the excitement are visits from our very own KI Puppets, including Shira Salamander (Cantor Amy Levy) and Mitzvah Monkey (Rabbi Ben-David), who spend special time with the children each week. Through songs, stories, laughter, and Jewish learning, these beloved characters help bring Jewish values and traditions to life in a way that is memorable, engaging, and fun.

Families are warmly invited to join us for our weekly Shabbat celebrations and are encouraged to participate in classroom traditions throughout the year. One particularly meaningful opportunity is our Shabbat Star program, which allows families to share in special classroom rituals and celebrations alongside their child. These experiences help strengthen the connection between home and school while fostering the sense of belonging that makes our preschool community so special.

Whether gathering for Shabbat, tending a garden, singing a favorite song, practicing yoga poses, or spending time with the KI Puppets, our children experience the joy of learning and growing within a vibrant, caring, and connected community.
