Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-K year is an exciting and important time as children prepare for the transition to Kindergarten. Our goal is to ensure that every child leaves KI feeling confident, capable, independent, and ready for the next step in their educational journey.

Through a curriculum based on the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards, children engage in hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences that support academic, social-emotional, physical, and spiritual development. Students learn through a variety of classroom centers, including literacy, writing, mathematics, science, art, dramatic play, music, and discovery, allowing them to explore their interests while developing essential school-readiness skills.

As children prepare for elementary school, they learn to balance independence with teamwork, building the confidence to work on their own while also collaborating with peers. Our teachers recognize and nurture each child’s unique strengths, interests, and learning style, ensuring that every child is challenged, supported, and celebrated.

Throughout the year, we assess children’s growth and development and maintain ongoing communication with families. We believe that parents and teachers are partners in a child’s learning journey, and we work together to support each child’s success.

In each classroom, Jewish values, traditions, and holidays are woven throughout the year through songs, stories, music, art, play, and celebrations that help children connect with their community while having fun and making lasting memories.
